• The Aragonese castle:

• La Mortella gardens:
  Mortella Botanic Gardens, Forio, created by Sir William Walton, famous English composer lie on an enormous volcanic rock, which hosts more than 800 rare species of plants. Open Apr. to Nov. on Tue. Thur. Sat. and Sun. from 9 a .m. til 7 p.m.; tel. 0039 081986220.




• The Soccorso Church:
  Forio, overlooking the sea is the Church of Soccorso, which gave its name to the little hill. Together with the "Torrione" is the symbol of the town and one of the most unique architectural results of the island. is placed on the promontory of Soccorso and is surrounded on three sides by the sea on a large square from which, on fine days, you can see the Isle of Ventotene.


• The Colombaia:
  The Colombaia, Forio, former residence of the late Lucchino Visconti, famous movie director, now hosts his foundation to promote and teach cinema, theater and music through conventions, workshops, exhibitions and further cultural events. A museum dedicated to life and work of Lucchino Visconti is being set up. The villa and the park ae open to the public from 10 a .m. til 1.30 p.m. and from 3 til 6.30 p.m.; tel.0039 081 3332147.


• Pietratorcia:
  Pietratorcia, ancient wine cellar in Forio with its high quality wine produced only in limited quantity so to preserve the enological vocationwhich the locals have built up in the past by wresting their vineyards from the slope of the Epomeo mountain. Tel. 0813332037.
